Dr Colette Solebo is a Child and adolescent psychiatrist based in Hertfordshire who for over 5 years has worked in a specialist unit where she has developed experience managing young people and adolescents with autism, anxiety and childhood depression, as well as ADHD, low self-esteem and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). She privately practises at Kobe House, Arete Health, where she provides specialised care and assessments for children and adolescents.
With almost 24 years of experience, both in academics and clinical practice, Dr Solebo has dedicated her career to supporting the mental health and well-being of young patients. She holds a PhD in Child Health Research from the University of Warwick and an MSc (Distinction) in Child Health from the same institution. Dr Solebo earned her MB BS from the University of Lagos.
Her expertise in diagnostic assessment for Autism, and ongoing work as part of a Trauma-informed Team, and training in Cognitive behavioural therapy for Trauma in Adolescents (CBT) enhances her ability to provide effective treatment for a range of psychiatric conditions in children and adolescents.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr Solebo has been actively involved in public health initiatives as a volunteer medic with Prohealth International and for 5 years as part of the Deputy Vice Chancellor’s dedicated Research and Innovation Team for developing Research Activities and practice at the University of Lagos.
Dr Solebo has a strong research background, with numerous publications in reputable journals. Her work includes research focused on child health delivery and care, spanning: paediatric emergency care delivery in lower income environments, to participation in research on the methods of learning lessons nationally from serious case reviews in the UK (Department of Education in the UK)., as well as exploring court skills training programmes for paediatricians.
She is a member of several professional organisations including the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) and the Royal College of Physician's faculty of Medical Leadership and Management (MFMLM). Dr Solebo's approach to treatment prioritises patient-centred care, ensuring that each young patient receives the best possible support for their mental health needs.
